Before Breast Cancer Surgery: A Retreat [Rock Row]

October 30 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT

Overview

Preparing for breast cancer surgery is more than preparing for a medical procedure—it is also an emotional and personal journey. Whether you are experiencing uncertainty, grief, resilience, hope, or all of these at once, this 3-hour retreat offers a nurturing space to pause, connect, and prepare for the road ahead. Designed for individuals preparing for breast cancer surgery, this retreat combines:
• Simple mind-body techniques to support you before surgery
• Gentle Qi Gong movement for relaxation and connection
• Guided expressive art to explore and express your experience
• Optional sharing and community ritual with drumming
• Space for reflection and group conversation
You are invited to participate in whatever way feels right for you. There is no expectation to share, and no previous experience with movement, meditation, or art is necessary. This retreat is about meeting yourself with compassion and finding support in a community of others walking a similar path.

Open to the public. This retreat is designed for people impacted by breast cancer. Sign up here: https://www.dempseycenter.org/services/classes-workshops/public/
